Book Fair
Salem Elementary usually holds two book fairs a year. The Fall book fair is sponsored by the PTA. The Spring book fair is put together by our librarians, Ms. Szvetitz and Ms. Wagner.

The theme for the 2008 Spring Book Fair is "Take a Reading Road Trip." On Family Night, there were games and prizes, and students showed us what they have been learning in Art and Music, including original musical performances and a slide show of art work. Donations were collected for "One for Books," with book donations for each dollar raised.
The theme for the 2005 Fall Book Fair (PDF format) was "Enter the Kingdom of Reading." On Family Night, volunteers dressed as some of our favorite storybook characters and there was an audience participation style puppet show by Kazoom Children's Theatre titled "Jericho the Last Dragon." Donations were collected to help to rebuild a school library affected by Hurricane Katrina. Also, "Wish List" books were donated, and the PTA was able to use Book Fair earnings to buy most of the remaining "Wish List" books.
