Computer Blackout - Monday, May 20th
Salem Elementary will be receiving a long awaited upgrade to our network, servers and computers. WCPSS Technology Services team will be here all day on Monday, May 20th.
During that time no one will have access to the Internet or their computers until the upgrade is completed. No teachers, front office, administrators etc. will be able to read email or any other activity that uses the Internet or computer resources. We call it "Little House on the Priaire" day. For those of you too young to remember that series, you can think of it like the new TV series "Revolution." Either way, no computers on Monday. We should be back to normal by Tuesday, but bare with us if any kinks in the upgrade occur. We thank for your patience in this matter.
The website will remain active because it is run from an off campus location.
You can still send us email, but we won't be able to read it or respond until after the upgrade.
White House congratulates Salem Elementary for attempting a Jump Rope Guiness World Record
Dear Salem Elementary:
Thank you for sharing your story with me. I am always so inspired to hear about Americans like you who are determined to stay healthy and active. I know it's not always easy, but if we keep working hard, we can improve our health and the health of our next generation.
To ensure all children have the future they deserve, each of us has a role to play in addressing this vital issue. In 2010, we launched Let's Move!, an initiative that aims to engage every sector of our society to improve the health of our Nation's young people. Since starting Let's Move!, we have seen widespread support from students, teachers, school administrators, and parents. This enthusiasm is incredibly inspiring, but our success is contingent on people like you. We need you to continue working together to ensure our next generation can grow up healthy and reach their fullest potential.
I hope you remain dedicated to building a healthy lifestyle within your family and your community. Please join us online at www.LetsMove.gov, to connect with our efforts and share your success stories.
Thank you again for writing. I wish you all the best.
Sincerely,
Michelle Obama
First Lady of the United States
