Salem has the NC Elementary P.E. program of the year.
Congratulations Tommy Hager! The Salem Elementary P.E. Dept. was named the Elementary P.E. program of the year for the state of North Carolina by the Physical Education Association (PEA) of NCAAHPERD.
Tommy Hager - Salem Elementary Physical Education Specialist– husband, father, P.E. teacher and Coach, has been at Salem Elementary as the full time P.E. Specialist since the school opened in 2000. After college Tommy worked for eight years at the Cary Family YMCA in the Youth Department as the Youth Sports Director. While there he started the YMCA Super Skippers. Tommy now coaches the Salem Skip-Its jump rope team. In 2004 Tommy earned his National Board Teaching Certification and was Salem Elementary’s Teacher of the Year.
